The Tour de Donut

Entries are open for a very cool event in Ohio. The Tour de Donut.

I rode in this “race” last year and had a blast. I rode the 16-mile route. I finished in about the middle of my class, as expected, and toward the back of the pack of all riders, also as expected. I managed to eat 6 donuts, which added me to the Half Dozen Club. I also took a whopping 30 minutes off my elapsed time for the ride, so I improved my overall finish (Donut Adjusted Time).

57th place (of 100) for all women, 37th of 75 in class (19-50), 12th of 75 in class (Donut Adjusted Time), and 5th in my age group for number of donuts eaten. Woo!

I paused the timer while I stopped to eat my donuts. The official time is elapsed, so it includes the time I took to eat and wash the sticky off my hands.

Oh yeah. And there’s costumes.

The staff and volunteers did a great job running the event. I had a great time and plan to be back this fall.

The last time I wore this old helmet. I have a much nicer new helmet now.

This is my new friend this year. I love my shiny red hot rod.
