The Great Lakes Boxers Club is known for its annual community service projects. For this year’s project they chose to raise money for the Susan G. Koman Foundation for Breast Cancer Research in a project called Boxers for Boobies.
This has been well received by the club and quickly spread throughout the UKC community. People from all over the US and Canada have been pledging donations based on how their dogs do in competition from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009.
I am pledging money to the cause through my dogs’ accomplishments:
U-GRCH Cat’s Cradle’s Beaufort, CGC, TDI, BPGM, BPDX (“Beau”)
- $1 for each dog defeated at the Breed level
- $1 for each Group placement or higher
- $1 for each qualifying performance score
- $5 for each new title earned
U-CH J Cross’ Currahee (“Ranger”)
- $1 for each dog defeated at the Breed level
- $1 for each Group placement or higher
- $5 for each new title earned
Note: I have no plans to enter Ranger in performance events during this calendar year due to time constraints and his age. If this changes, I will update accordingly.
As of April 19, 2009 my boys have raised
Beau: (8 dogs defeated x $1/dogs) + (4 Group placements x $1/placement) = $12
Ranger: (4 dogs defeated x $1/dog) + (2 Group placements x $1/placement) + (1 title x $5/title) = $11
Total: $23
