2-3 DAY PACK- Kelty Gale
Not a bad pack. Probably not for most ultralighters. Durable, good size (3500 cu in) but a tad heavy (3.5lbs). I’ve had it hold plenty of gear for a 3 day summer trip, but I feel you would be hard pressed to go over 5 even if you are using your (ultralight) small gear. I have a problem getting the shoulder straps in just the right place so they rub at my neck after about a mile or so. I wear my bandana there until I get the straps adjusted just right (different each trip depending on how my back and knees feel)

DAY PACK- Lowe Alpine Contour All-Sport 30
First, let me say, I love this pack. Comfortably handles loads up to 15 lbs, could prbably go a few pounds over that if needed. Holds a laptop and all of those goodies for campus use. Comfortable shoulder pads and padded back panel, nice choice on colors (mine is blaze for visibility in the woods). Nice bike pack as well, didn’t overheat on 8 mile sprints. Outside stretch mesh net easily holds a jacket or helmet. The compression straps holding the waterbottles in place could use some heavier stitching inside the pack, but overall not bad. A little heavy for ultralight use- 1lb 12oz. 1780 cu. in.
