A few weeks ago I was in Cincinnati at an outfitter and picked up a book by local author, Jeff Alt. I’m almost done with A Hike for Mike, which is good because tomorrow (Dec. 3, 2007) Jeff is doing a talk at the Miami Group Sierra Club monthly meeting. He’ll be talking about the AT thru-hike to raise money for the home where his brother with cerebral palsy resides (documented in A Walk for Sunshine), the thru he and his wife did of the JMTto raise awareness of depression and its treatment (A Hike for Mike), and the trip he recently did to Ireland with his wife and daughter.
