The date in the photo is wrong (listed as june 15, 2001). Beau beat a longtailed dog to win Best Male. This is his first Major (Competition Win). It is his second time in the ring and his first weekend out. Judge: Geoff Browne.
The pictures of Beau outside the ring are from June 15. On June 16 Beau again beat a longtailed dog to win Best Male. This is his second Major. Judge:
Beau earned a Group 3 placement in a Herding Group full of Champions and Grand Champions (he was the only Class dog in the ring). This is the final Major he needs to earn his Champion title. He is the first UKC Champion bobtail Catahoula. 8 breeds were represented. Judge: Dee Mattern
This was Beau’s first weekend out in the Champion ring. He won Reserve Champion in a class of 5 dogs. All the other dogs had tails. Judge: Joseph Allen
Beau got his first Group 2 placement. He’s moving up in the world. Judge: Joseph Allen.
Beau got his first Group win. This is a very big deal. It’s another bobtail first. He also earned his Canine Good Citizen title this day. Judge: Dee Mattern
Beau got his first Best in Show. This is a very big deal. It’s another bobtail first. While this is technically a Best in Multi Breed Show because not every breed was offered, it’s still very exciting. 8 Groups were represented. Judge: Joseph Allen
Beau got his second Best in Show. Once again it’s a Multi Breed Show. This is still a very big deal. This is his very first time out since the last BIMBS win. 7 Groups were represented. Judge: Joseph Camp.
Beau earned a Group 4 in the first show and then a Group 3 in the second show (6 breeds represented each show). Judge: Augustina Heinz (Group 4) Judge: Tina Camp (Group 3).
This day a Labrador got out of its crate and attacked Beau while we were waiting to go into the breed ring for Show 1. Beau had a few small cuts on his leg (you can see one on his front leg in these pictures) and the Lab had numerous bite marks and two holes completely through one ear from Beau defending himself. Beau was found to be not at fault in this incident.
Beau won Reserve Champion with competition (3 dogs total) in Sunday’s show. Unfortunately, my armband number was not recorded properly and another dog in the ring was credited with the win. The other dog’s owner and I contacted the UKC, but to no avail. UKC said the only way to change what was in the official record book was for the judge from that day to change it. They contacted the judgem but nothing ever came of this. The other dog’s owner said she wants her girl to win, but wants it fairly and since I had the ribbon, the pictures, and everyone saw the judge hand me the ribbon, Beau won no matter what UKC said.
Beau won Group 3 once again with 5 breeds represented. Judge: Tina Camp
Beau won his first Champion of Champions class over one dog, then went on to win Best of Breed and Group 2 (7 breeds represented). He picked up 3 Top Ten points. Judge: Joseph Allen
Beau earned his first leg towards his Grand Champion title by winning the Champion of Champions class over three dogs (only two are required for this leg). He also won Best of Breed picking up another 4 Top Ten points. This gives him a total of 7 Top Ten points and finishes this weekend as the #1 UKC Catahoula. This judge also awarded Beau’s half brother King’s Ridge’s Jagger Best in Show at a Rarities show in Canada several years ago. Judge: Jeanne Heger.
In the second show of the day Beau was narrowly defeted in the Champion of Champions class of four dogs and took Reserve. Judge: David Arthur.
