Comments:Enjoyed the site, especially the pictures of the NCT/MRT. I love that loop. Met many dogs during my AT thru-hike this last year but have not taken mine (golden retriever’s) out overnight yet. They love to take day hikes.

Do you like SPAM?Love Spam sandwiches with mustard
Comments:We have backbacked, crosscountry skied with our Siberians since the mid 60’s. Please always make sure your dog has ID with a home base contact number when out. Also watch out for Porcupines. We have had more episodes of disrupted trips from these critters, than bears, giardia, ticks, skunks etc. Nancy

Comments:I got to your website through the catahoula message boards. We have a catahoula and this summer we are attempting to teach her to run with us on our bikes (I guess bikejoring but not in the true sense). I noticed on your website the hookup that you had with Beau and your bike. Is that homemade? What did you do specifically to train him to run ahead of you? We can’t get Gretta to run ahead of us she always wants to try and run beside us. She hikes with us all the time, and jogs with my boyfriend alot but she needs more exersize and this seems like a great way to do it. I tried e-mailing you but it wouldn’t go through for me, if you could e-mail me back that would be great! I was hoping you could give us some training tips since you have trained your catahoula to do this. (And as we both probably know sometimes Catahoula’s take a slightly different training method than other breeds…at least that is what we found in an obdience class of goldens and labs…our dog was VERY dif

Comments:Enjoyed your site. Actually Joshua passed away a few years back but I still miss having him along on my hikes. Really liked your faqs on packing with dogs and wondered if I could use it on my site. We’ve turned into kind of a non-commercial Readers Digest of internet hiking info. I would of course give you full credit and post a link to your website. Thanks & I enjoyed my visit. Rob

Name:city-Avitar
Traildog’s name: Starlette
Comments:Uberpest, Uberpest, I like the new site changes. My dog is a city dog, named Starlette, she was rescued from a flood, stuck in a river, clinging on for help to a piece of metal, then no on wanted to adopt her from the pound, they thought she was a wild dog, she only liked me out of all the people wanting to adopt her, she tried to eat everyone else. She’s a fawn colored german shepherd and had a lot of training before. I re-trained her with my custom hand signals so I don’t have to call her outloud and that way she and I can move about quietly.

Comments:Hi! Your instructions are very useful. Only thing i’m missing is the instructions for the ‘triangle’ harness. You know, where there is a strap going front of dog’s chest, around dog’s lungs and one strap that connects them on the back. If you could put that information on your page, [or mail me], i would be very happy!
