I didn’t realize this, but many of you probably already knew, Susan Butcher passed away on August 5, 2006. I still have the letter and signed photo she sent me when I was in high school (I got it sometime in 1996 or 1997). It went with me to college and was displayed proudly in both of my dorms and my apartment. While I never did get that racing team together, I did stay with dogs and focused on what MY dogs could do instead of trying to make them something they weren’t. Because of that kind of dedication to the sport of athletic dogs and also her dedication to her fans, Susan will always be remembered for being the class act she was. Part of her legacy, though she may never have known it, is this site and a goofy Cur dog that carries his weight when he’s with me.
